You are obviously aware how crucial it is in Internet marketing to have a large list of subscriber-based prospects. In case you need a reminder, people will buy your services more frequently from a relationship you build with your customer list than a first or second-time visit to your website. Even for a small venture such as a niche product website, an opt-in list can make you a sizeable income. Like the motto of our website, “it’s in the list” is where a good amount of your marketing efforts should be made. Your list may very well determine the overall success of your online business.
Now for the next set of secrets to help you build your list:
1) Place ads. There are many companies or websites who will be willing to pay to put their banners and ads on a list with many subscribers. Invite these companies to place an add in your next e-mail newsletter. Your newsletter could be placed with many ads and each one is an opportunity for growth in your list and your income.
2) Start a relationship with other website businesses that have some relevancy or relation to your website business. When you do, you can look for a P4P or “pay for performance” type of link where the other company provides you with a link and brief descriptions of what they offer in products or services. You post that link on your website, and with every click made on the link that directs or leads a subscriber from your list to their site, the company will pays you.
3) Do cross promotions with other website business. Again, if you begin making relationships with related web companies, you can cross promote with their lists. With every sale done by customers that have come from their list, you can pay a small percentage or commission to that company, and your list grows. If you have any size of a list at all, you can promote their products as well on your list and receive a commission from them.
4) You can take advantage of stronger website businesses in your related field by selling their product or services directly on your website. You can borrow some of their traffic, build your list, sell their products or services, and make a commission to boot.
5) Sell your own e-books! Make a compilation of your articles. Do some research on the most often asked questions for your niche. Then draft about a 20-page e-book that includes your information and your newly researched information and answer all the top questions in your field. You can sell your e-books as a way to attract subscribers, or even give it away as a “bribe” just for signing up for your list. This one’s a no brainer, and should be done quickly. If you have trouble writing, then outsource the project for $50-$100, or whatever you can afford.
6) Run a “tell-a-friend” promotion with your present list. Get people to invite more friends, relatives, coworkers, etc. to view your site and subscribe to your list. You can even have them tell their friends about the free e-book that you are offering (from #5 above) to entice the new folks to join your list.
7) Add a “tell-a-friend” plug-in (for blogs) or script directly to your website. That way when strangers come to your site but think the information would be important to one of their friends or loved ones, they will instantly be able to pass your website information on to their friends, who in turn may visit your site, purchase your products or services and subscribe to your list.
